Currently Quartet-in-Residence at Bard College, the Colorado Quartet has a long and impressive resume of
residencies, master classes and coaching of chamber ensembles as well as serving as members of international competition
juries. The quartet is recognized as one of the finest string quartets on the international scene. Winners of both
the Banff International String Quartet Competition and the Naumburg Chamber Music Award, it is noted for its deep
scholarly knowledge of the quartet literature, musical integrity, impassioned playing and a focus on fine details.
Colorado’s wide repertoire can be found on Parnassus, Mode and Albany recordings. This is the fourth time the ensemble
has performed for CMSU, most recently in 2000.
